The Parish Church of the Ascension with All Saints is one of Chelmsford's more striking modern churches, designed by Essex born and educated architect Laurence King. We are of the Anglican Catholic tradition with worship centred on the ministries of Word and Sacraments. Sunday-by-Sunday we gather to do what our Blessed Lord commanded us to do, to receive his living Body and Blood and to hear his voice in the Scriptures. We try to do this in an atmosphere of devotion with good singing, thus expressing our love of God and of each other.
Our main Mass on Sundays is at 9.30am and it is followed by Parish breakfast to which everyone is invited.
We have a good choral tradition under the directorship of John Utting and Edward Montgomery. There is a mixed robed choir and new members are always welcome.
We have a Covenant with Trinity Methodist Church and Chelmsford Cathedral and we work with the North Avenue United Reformed Church to help provide the Jubilee Community Café.
Our hope is that the presence of the risen and ascended Lord is experienced and felt by all who come through our church doors.
